Amid a dirt parking lot and a handful of local shops, Connie opened her seasonal store, selling penny candy and unforgettable vacation staples like the iconic “Wicked Good in Popponesset” T-shirts. Her success allowed The Purple Poppy to relocate to the larger, more prominent Mashpee Commons in the early 90s, where it evolved to focus on elegant, contemporary women’s clothing. Connie's vision filled the boutique with vibrant colors, stylish choices, and exceptional service, creating an unparalleled shopping experience.
A New Chapter with Erin Gildea
Today, The Purple Poppy enters an exciting new chapter under the ownership of Erin Gildea.
